For
25 years, Steve has been a highly regarded TV news and entertainment executive.
He’s served as Executive Producer of “Extra”,
as well as News Director at the CBS station in Chicago. All told, Steve has
been responsible for thousands of hours of TV programming.
In
addition to his duties at J2SC, Steve is President and Executive Producer, of
Steve Lange Productions, a boutique TV Production Company based in Los Angeles.
Lange
began his career in TV News, learning the station business while serving on
management teams in New York, Chicago and LA (WCBS-TV, WBBM-TV, and KNBC-TV)
The
local news experience of producing and marketing to audiences in highly
competitive markets proved invaluable. His journalistic skills and story-sense
helped turn struggling stations into top rated news operations.
Steve
made the transition to entertainment as Executive Producer of Extra, The
Newsmagazine. During the 1997-98 season, Extra established itself as a
competitive force; breaking major national and international stories --especially
notable: Extra’s coverage of the Death of Princess Diana. Extra had its most
competitive year to date; becoming the number one news magazine show in
syndication.
Lange’s
next move was to cable TV. As Executive Producer at Weller Grossman
Productions, he supervised more than a thousand hours of programming for a
variety of cable nets: National Geographic, History Channel, Food Network,
Discovery Health and CNN.
Lange
was awarded a national EMMY for Food Network’s “Wolfgang Puck” show. He was a
finalist for a second national EMMY for History Channel’s “Beyond the DaVinci
Code.”
In
2007, Lange started Steve Lange Productions, a multi-platform media company
specializing in TV production for broadcast, cable and the Internet.
