Dr. Breen’s vast experience as a TV Medical Reporter makes him a perfect addition to J2SC’s Health Care Team. For more than two decades Breen was one of a small fraternity of full-time Medical Reporters who also was an MD. His experience running an Emergency Room gave him a unique perspective of how to relate to viewers when he later stepped in front of the camera.

Breen says, “I was struck that so much illness was lifestyle-related and preventable. I got into television to tell viewers that they need to understand their bodies. It’s so important that everyone takes part in the medical decisions that affected their lives. People need to know that life-and-death decisions are sometimes made on the basis of dollars-and-cents.”

Michael Breen M.D. most recently spent seven years at CBS/WBBM in Chicago. While there he often reported on medical issues for the CBS Morning News. In print, Breen wrote a weekly Health column for the Chicago Sun-Times. Before coming to the Windy City, Dr. Breen was on the air for 15 years in Minneapolis, splitting his tenure among all three network stations.
